Jan 18, 2013, Homebush, home to the Sydney Big Day Out…

Sydney experienced its hottest day on record, with temperatures reaching an all time record high 45.8 degrees across the greater city area…

For those not familar with Homebush and its facilities it a mass of concrete stadiums and smaller arenas with few trees… The heat of tens of thousands of bodies coupled with areas not getting a hint of a breeze was a few degrees above the 45.8 record, punters and officials were reporting temps nearer to 48

But that didn’t stop 50,000 people having a good time.
