At first we went forward, then unfortunately we went backwards…

It started back in December 2013, when 31 same-sex couples had their marriages made invalid by the ACT government. The ACT did a backflip on same-sex marriage.

 

In December 2014 glaad helped celebrate and validate their 1st anniversary. The paper anniversary with #5daysofequality. Thousands sent their love and support and a lovely group of volunteers help put on an event in Canberra at the Nishi Gallery to show this support.

I was fortunate to be one of the volunteers and helped document the event, we were a very merry bunch travelling from Sydney for the day to setup and host the event, returning to Sydney in the wee hours of the morning.

 

With recent events in Ireland, The Irish now celebrate marriage equality. Lets hope our Government follows suit sooner rather than later.
